Intranet Ecole La Source

The "Institut et Haute Ecole de Santé La Source", based in Lausanne, is a nursing school founded in 1859, member of HES-SO.

The Ecole La Source was looking for a new intranet allowing to collaborate and share information more effectively. The intranet platform developed and implemented by Connect-i included the following functionalities:

• an interconnection with the LDAP directory of the School and the e-learning platform used by students.
• a content management system allows the school to manage the intranet's content with a lot of autonomy
• a dashboard, similar to "iGoogle", containing widgets individually adjustable by each user, allowing them to aggregate the information sources (internal or external) that are most relevant in the context of their business
• a system of Electronic Document Management, fully integrated to the intranet, allowing to share various documents organized in a tree, and taking into account different levels of access rights
• a multi-criteria search engine indexing both pages' content and the content of documents hosted on the intranet
• a system of "work groups" making possible for users to work together inside virtual groups, restricted to them, and to share documents and task lists
• a manageable calendar of school events

The project duration was about 6 months, including a test phase involving different 'pilot' users, followed by a deployment to the entire staff of the school.
